2012 Fall for 3D in London Design Week

100% Design Show, Earls Court, London, September 2012

Every September the London Design Festival  aims ‘to celebrate and promote London as the design capital of the world, and as the gateway to the International creative community.’

The strongest image from London design Week at the end of September 2012 was the entrance to the 100% design show in London.

100% Design London, Dramatic Entrance

The show visitors were treated to a dramatic tunnel entrance with a sculptural light installation and pumping music which certainly got us excited about the range of design exhibits ahead. Many major brands in the interiors field attended as usual such as Vitra and Herman Miller. Future Living was a theme of this show with a whole area dedicated to Eco design and Build.

Attending a seminar talk at 100% Design with Entrepreneurs innovating in the design field was very inspiring. Key subjects discussed included 'Strategies for using the web to promote design led businesses'.

Top Drawer, London, September 2012

September's Top Drawer show also located at London's Earls Court was filled with wonderful interior products for the UK market.

This bi-annual show has a really diverse range of displays and stands with natural materials and contemporary styles competing for buyers attention.

River Island Shop Window Display, Oxford Street, London

We enjoyed seeing this new Mini Cooper unexpectedly on display at River Island in Oxford Street. The coordinating black and white dressed mannequins give the store a 1960's feel.

Matching outfits to your car isn't the only idea at River Island. The black and white shopping bags clutched by the models on display, challenge the viewer to see how many people and their shopping can fit in this Mini Cooper.
Jackets, UniqLo Shop, Oxford Street, London

UniqLo continues the sculptural 3 dimensional theme with this lively window display also on Oxford Street, London.

The autumn coloured packages contain the cosy down filled jackets for men and women.

We like the way they are hung in bunches cascading down from the high ceiling of this double height shop frontage.
Swarovski Pillars, Oxford Street, London

Mirrored glass 'shards' announce the store with a glittering three dimensional canopy.

Three crystal pillars create a dazzling entrance to the Swarovski store in Oxford Street.

These full sized crystal pillars are reminiscent of opulent interiors in big hotels in Las Vegas. Anyone who has an eye for sparkle and drama couldn't resist looking at what gems may be inside this theatrical store.

We couldn't resist including a detailed picture of a crystal column at the Swarovski shop that looks fit for a princess.

The effect as the light refracts through the crystals is quite stunning and sculptural and definitely gives our eyes a treat during the Design Week festival.
