Retail Art Review – Highlights of The Galleria in Houston

The Galleria mall at 5085 Westheimer Road, Houston is testament to the 'everything is bigger in Texas' theory.

We would not disagree  as we thoroughly  enjoyed exploring this shopping heaven which is laid out like a 'who's who' of designer fashion.

We loved the jolly designs of Dylan's Candy Bar where the whole store looks edible!

The Galleria's slogan is "More Stores, More Brands, More Deals, More Fun, All in One Place".

We certainly found it to be buzzing with high quality culture on offer to rival any international destination.

Houston is also reasonable to visit which means as a visitor you get as they say here 'a lot of 'bang for your buck'! Houston is becoming known as an often underrated city.   

We thought tis window by Juicy Couture was very clever.  'Do the Donts' is a rebellious take on fashion rules.

We all know that some rules are there to be broken right?  We liked the way the model 'protesters' carry plaques with funky graphic slogans too.

Gleaming stores at The Galleria look new and ready for retail action. We were impressed to find employees cleaning windows and polishing fixtures as they opened their doors.

This window at J. Crew features those two eternal Autumn themes, falling leaves and academia. It is of course, also a play on the pun of 'leaves in books' too. 

This beautifully constructed display is a great example of where art and retail successfully mix,

In addition to a wide variety of shops, from department stores to small boutiques, there are several stunning designer stores at the Galleria.

They include Gucci, Yves Saint. Laurent, Burberry, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Max Mara.

The Galleria Mall owned by Simon Malls has retail on two enormous floors. It is so big you definately need to look at the map at least once for guidance. 

For those with extra energy to burn after all that walking The Galleria even has a lovely ice rink in the basement!

We were impressed by this window for Brooks Brothers. It is professionally put together with smart framed fixtures in a masculine dark wood. 

Conservative upholstered panels and classic suits with the right accessories convey 'quality' and 'fine tailoring' effectively to the prospective customer.
