Vintage Windows in Chichester Aug 2010 (Version 2)

Cancer Research Vintage Window 2010 August 2010 saw the medieval cathedral city of Chichester join in celebrating all things Vintage as part of the 'Vintage at Goodwood' festival. The stunning grounds at the Goodwood estate provided a classic backdrop to the unique event that championed British art, design, music and of course fashion over the last 50 years.

Several shops took up the challenge of a good old fashioned window display competition. The results were some charming windows around the city and a decade was chosen as a theme for each window. This 1940's window at the Cancer Research Charity shop was beautifully constructed. We also enjoyed the matching menswear version.

Jigsaw Vintage Window 2010

The 1950's were the theme for the windows at Jigsaw and this fabulous beaded union jack flag caught our attention. The matching window featured three mannequins in red dresses also with a 50's cut.

A real treat was the creative outfits and hairstyles the ladies at Jigsaw were sporting to really get into the spirit of the festival.

Past Time Vintage Window 2010

The swinging 60's were chosen by Past Times for a bright and cheerful window display. Complete with smiling 'spacehopper' the display certainly made the windows 'eye catching' compared to the normally quiet and elegantly styled windows normally seen at Past Times.

Meritz Schoolwear Vintage Window 2010 'Welcome to the 70's' invited the windows at Meritz Schoolwear. We liked the vintage tennis racket and retro sportswear and summer festival feel to this display.

We look forward to more special event themed displays accross this historic Sussex city.
