Spring 2012 is bright in London

Selfridges London Spring 2012 window

At Selfridges in Oxford Street in London, Spring 2012's bright theme kicked off with this original window display.

Numerous different coloured balls each contain an English word fill the front of the famous store.

The word balls wizz around the wooden construction like a fairground big dipper ride to create an exciting, moving display.
A poster nearby explains this ingenious construction …

”It's Nice That champions creativity in any context from the biggest names to the brightest new stars. Our windows celebrate Words, Words, Words in all their weird and wonderful glory.”

Brilliant!

Further down Oxford Street the grey streets of London are brightened up by Mothercare's rainbow themed window and colourful collection of childrenswear.

There are several multicoloured windows in the West End this Spring and in addition to our selection here the list includes Accessorize, Liberties, Urban Outfitters and Desigual. At Marks and Spencer the windows show bold vinyl lettering stating “It's all about graphic prints and spring brights”

This theme continues at the Forever 21 store with windows that proclaim “Fresh Colour”

We love all the ingenious giant paint brushes and the models wearing bold separates.

Primark Oxford St. window Feb 2012

Primark's rainbow of colours this Spring definitely doesn't come with Wellington boots! These bright high heels look very tempting in such a daring array of hues.

This display also highlights the range Primark has in merchandise and sends the message that there is something for everyone inside.

TopShop window Oxford St. Feb 2012

TopShop continues with more Spring Brights than a 1980's Bennetton advert.

This trend also hints at and relates to the Olympics being help in London this year. All these colours here remind us of National Flags and the different colours and emblems of competing nations, We love the simplicity of the multicoloured perspex hanging panels and think it makes a very effective and eye-catching window.
