The Vintage and Steam Fair was held at The Weald and Downland Museum in Singleton in Sussex on the 17th and 18th of August 2013. It was a wonderful summer weekend celebrating steam engines, vintage vehicles and good old fashioned country culture.

It was a great sight to see all the steam as the engines as they got going and an unexpected delight as we heard the whistles blow too!

Rolling Sussex countryside set the backdrop for the fun family festival. A feature was the vintage craft fair selling all sorts of traditional items and gifts from a variety of mostly local companies.

Several unique stalls and some big marquees were set up for visitors to enjoy browsing alongside the museum’s many historic cottages and buildings.

Our Create Display ‘pop up shop’ fitted perfectly into a nice location clearly visible in the center of the smart main marquee. We were happy with our new hanging system which made it super easy to display our handmade pieces.

It was great to see some people we knew already and meet some new fair visitors who are also very enthusiastic about craft and design! We made some sales and promoted some of our new products. Thank you to everyone who visited us at our stand and helped make it a special weekend.

A special carousel in the steam themed fairground ride area, for children and the young at heart, was very popular.

Many customers kept the beautifully decorated tea tents busy and the lovely cakes sold well. We were very impressed with the team who catered to people so elegantly in full vintage dress!

Everyone appreciated the live music from The FB Pocket Orchestra, The Worthing Silver Band, Autumn Reeds and ‘Trads’ It was a memorable event and a good time was had by all!
