Retail Art Review – Rome Jan 2010

Fabriano Window Display Rome

Fabriano is an upmarket stationary and giftware store located in the airport in Rome. This store uses a simple white finished retail display system to cleverly show off its colourful merchandise effectively.

A sheet of wood veneer is used as a backdrop to this window. This choice of material does not interfere visually with the creatively arranged products.

This simple backdrop approach is applied to the entire store and is successful in promoting the multi-coloured items for sale while keeping a clean and uncluttered look to the shop.

Ferrari Store Window Display Rome

The Ferrari store creates excitement for its luxury sports car and offers visitors the opportunity to buy into the 'life in the fast lane' lifestyle through its merchandise.

This window highlights all these things and gives us an opportunity to see a real Ferrari engine close up. This will surely grab peoples attention!  A few mannequins with signature red merchandise on clouds of snow is all that is needed for this successful winter window.

Stephanel Window Display Rome

This window by Stephanel follows the series of sculptural windows we have seen this season. The graceful draping of the fabrics on the mannequins is complimented by the sculptural full length lighting.

This window is one of a pair in a modestly sized boutique in Rome.

A simple but nicely designed display that also allows natural light to flow into the store.
