Vintage 2010 Fashion Show This transformed the Sussex countryside into a quirky version of the British village at Epcot, Disneyland.

Visitors in an array of wonderful vintage retro outfits enjoyed everything from sewing classes to cocktails and even attended an original fashion show.

Hemmingway Vintage Shop 2010

We liked the bunting display at the Vintage shop with merchandise designed by Wayne Hemmingway who with his team directed and designed the event.

Each carefully staged area was designed to transport the visitor back to their decade of choice complete with a club interior, great music from live artists and DJ’s and lots of dancing.

Rows of second hand and vintage stalls displayed a tempting selection of clothes and accessories. We couldn’t resist investing in womens magazines from the 1930′s and 40′s as festival souveniers.

We had fun discovering treasures in ‘The Eternal Makers’ shop, a Chichester based haberdashery.

Such a British themed festival had to involve some weather worthy of comment we sported our ‘macs’ and ‘brollys’ when necessary and headed into the fab music tents to have a good boogie.

An alternative fringe experience was provided by ‘The Eco Factory’ near the grand entrance, just nestled in the woods.

Partygoers could participate in a Fancy Dress workshop and delight at the beautifully painted, gypsy caravan of treasures by Annie Sherburne.

Giant knitting classes were popular while a more intimate stage featured live performances from stars of the future by Outbound Records.

Main Stage at Vintage 2010

Sunny Sunday and the Vintage festival was in full swing. Kid Creole and the Coconuts played a great set on the main stage adding to the festival atmosphere. A fine time was had by all at the Soul Casino and our Vintage adventure finale was the wonderful Swing Commanders in the 1940′s Torch Club.

This week it was announced that Vintage 2011 is planned at London’s Southbank over the last weekend in August. We are keeping our elegantly gloved fingers crossed that despite its departure from the beautiful Goodwood estate, we will continue to celebrate British Vintage, art, music and design in high style.
